Leak at French Table Tennis Federation
The French Table Tennis Federation (FFTT) disclosed a cyberattack in which a compromised account was used to bulk-extract licence-holder records — names, dates and places of birth, nationality, licence numbers and contact details for an estimated 210,000–254,000 members; no banking or health data was affected.

On 6 February 2026, the French Table Tennis Federation (FFTT) — the national governing body for table tennis in France — confirmed that it had been the target of a cyberattack involving the theft of its licence-holders' personal data. An attacker gained unauthorised access through a compromised user account, which was then used to bulk-extract information from the federation's licence database.
The federation stressed that no banking details or health data were among the stolen information. The exposed records covered an estimated 210,000 to 254,000 licensed members and included the following categories of data:
- First name, last name and gender
- Date and place of birth, and nationality
- Licence number
- Postal address, email address and phone number
The FFTT filed a criminal complaint and notified the French authorities, including ANSSI (the national cybersecurity agency) and the CNIL (the data protection regulator). It worked with technical partners to close the security gap that allowed the intrusion, set up a dedicated contact address (cyber@fftt.org), and warned members to stay vigilant against phishing, fraud and identity-theft attempts that could exploit the leaked contact details.
Note: the "two million" figure sometimes associated with this case relates to a separate breach at the French Basketball Federation and does not apply to the FFTT.
