On 13 May 2026, Akitatek β€” a French online retailer specialising in computer hardware, PC components and high-tech peripherals β€” was named in a data leak published on a cybercrime forum by a threat actor using the pseudonym ChimeraZ. The actor claimed to have compromised a database tied to the akitatek.fr site.

The leaked file was a relatively small (~1 MB) JSON export said to contain roughly 5,500 customer profiles. Although limited in volume, the exposed records consisted of personal details tied to customers' billing and shipping addresses.

Exposed data categories reportedly included:

  • Full names
  • Complete postal addresses
  • Phone numbers (mobile and landline)
  • Billing/shipping address labels

The exact intrusion vector was not disclosed, and the full authenticity of the data and the precise origin of the compromise had not been publicly confirmed. The dataset, while modest in size, is sufficient to fuel targeted phishing and social-engineering scams impersonating technical support or delivery carriers, and affected customers were urged to remain vigilant.
