On 22 May 2026, Jimmy Fairly β a French eyewear and optical retail chain founded in 2010 β was named in a data-leak claim after a threat actor using the alias Angel_Batista advertised a database of its customers for sale on a cybercrime forum. The dataset reportedly covers 357,317 customers linked to the jimmyfairly.com store.
The breach was part of a coordinated wave that, between 22 and 24 May 2026, saw several French opticians β including Optic 2000, Auchan Optique and Atol β have customer records put up for sale by the same actor. The intrusion vector was not disclosed, but the data points to a compromise of Jimmy Fairly's customer-management or e-commerce systems rather than an extortion-style ransomware event.
According to the listing and reporting, the exposed data included:
- Full names (first and last)
- Complete postal addresses, city and postal code
- Email addresses
- Dates of birth
- Internal customer identifiers
As of disclosure, Jimmy Fairly had not issued a public statement confirming the breach, and independent verification of the sample's authenticity remained pending, so the status is unknown. Because the records combine dates of birth with full addresses, observers warned that affected customers face an elevated risk of targeted phishing, smishing and identity-theft attempts.
